The wine tray production line is a complete manufacturing system designed for producing molded pulp packaging specifically shaped for wine bottles. This eco-friendly packaging solution protects glass products during transportation while providing an attractive, sustainable alternative to plastic and Styrofoam.
Similar to our egg tray production line, the wine tray production line transforms waste paper into durable, protective packaging through a standardized process. The only difference lies in the mold configuration—wine bottle molds are specially designed to cradle specific bottle shapes and sizes.

Why Choose a Wine Tray Production Line?
The wine tray production line offers compelling advantages for wineries, packaging companies, and investors:
- Sustainable Packaging: 100% biodegradable and compostable, meeting growing environmental regulations and consumer preferences
- Cost-Effective Production: Uses readily available waste paper as raw material, significantly reducing packaging costs compared to imported plastics
- Versatile Applications: The same production line can produce wine trays, fruit trays, nursery trays, and other molded pulp products with simple mold changes
- Customization Options: Molds can be tailored to specific wine bottle dimensions, ensuring a perfect fit for each client’s bottles
- Proven Global Track Record: Successfully installed in Canada, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, South Africa, and other countries

Complete Production Process
The wine tray production line follows the same process as egg tray production, with specialized molds for wine bottle shapes. Here are the five main stages:
1. Pulping System
The process begins by converting waste paper into usable pulp:
- Raw materials (newspaper, cardboard, office paper) are fed into the pulper machine
- Water is added, and the mixture is thoroughly agitated to create a homogeneous pulp
- Pulp is stored in storage tanks and further processed in mixing tanks
- Pulp concentration is adjusted using the homogenizer
Key Equipment: Pulper, homogenizer, pulp pump, vibrating screen, pulp storage tank

2. Forming System
The prepared pulp is transformed into wine tray shapes:
- Pulp from the supply tank is fed into the forming machine
- The vacuum suction system pulls pulp onto the mold cavities
- Wine bottle-shaped molds create the specific cavity pattern
- The transfer system moves formed products to drying carriers
Key Equipment: Forming machine, wine bottle molds, vacuum pump, negative pressure tank, air compressor

3. Drying System
Formed wine trays require drying before they can be handled:
- Natural Drying: Sun drying in favorable climate conditions (24-48 hours)
- Brick Kiln Drying: Traditional tunnel dryer using natural gas, coal, or biomass (25-30m³ capacity)
- Metal Dryer (Recommended): Multi-layer dryer with intelligent temperature control (30-40 minutes drying time)
We recommend the egg tray dryer for consistent, year-round production regardless of weather conditions.

4. Hot Press (Optional)
For premium wine packaging, a hot press machine can enhance surface smoothness and durability:
- Smooths the tray surface for a more polished appearance
- Increases structural strength
- Creates a more premium look suitable for high-end wines

5. Packaging & Stacking
The final stage prepares finished products for storage and transport:
- Automatic Stacker: Organizes dried trays into neat stacks
- Baler: Compacts and bundles trays for efficient storage and shipping
Our egg tray packing machine can also be used for wine tray packaging.

Wine Bottle Mold Customization
One of the key advantages of our production line is the ability to customize molds for different wine bottle sizes and shapes. To order a custom wine tray mold, simply provide:
- Bottle height and diameter
- Bottle shape ( Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, etc.)
- Number of bottles per tray (typically 1, 2, 6, or 12)
- Any specific design requirements
Our engineering team will design and manufacture molds that perfectly match your specific bottle dimensions.

Product Versatility
While designed for wine bottles, the same production line can create various molded pulp products:
- Wine Bottle Trays: Single, double, 6-bottle, or 12-bottle configurations
- Fruit Trays: Apple trays, orange trays, mango trays
- Nursery Trays: Seedling pots and agricultural trays
- Industrial Packaging: Electronic equipment protection, automotive parts packaging
Simply change the molds to switch between different products—this flexibility maximizes your return on investment.
